When I was 14 years old, I had my first overseas trip. Touring Italy and Austria as my first taste of travelling abroad was definitely a catalyst in my hunger for more. The thing about travelling that intrigues me the most is the people. Whenever I travel somewhere I always try and go to a place where I am able to experience the locals. Before turning to languages when studying, I considered myself a social scientist at heart. This was also my aim for post graduate studies as I majored in Sociology and Psychology. It was only when applying for honours that I realised that my third major and backup, Applied English, was the way to go forward. I have not looked back since and now I combine my fascination with people and travelling with my love for language and writing.
