The floor-to-ceiling windows give guests spectacular ocean views, while the kitchen cooks up glorious comfort food that completes the warm atmosphere of the restaurant.
At the helm in the kitchen, Chef Adrian Cook uses only the freshest locally-sourced, seasonal produce to create the indulgent menu.
For starters, tuck into mussels with a creamy sauce and garlic bread, rich venison and leek ragout, or the ratatouille tartlet with rocket, balsamic reduction, pesto, and parmesan shavings. Sumptuous mains include the traditional favourite home-style chicken and mushroom pot pie, and the red wine braised lamb shank is just the remedy for the Winter blues. Another hearty main is the biltong encrusted ostrich fillet, packed with rich flavours and served on a bed of roast beetroot and hummus puree.
For a sweet end to the comforting menu, there is the chai matcha crème brulee topped with peanut brittle, red wine poached pears, and a dousing of red wine reduction; smoked dark chocolate fondant with a dollop of Cognac ice cream; pecan nut and apricot bread and butter toasted sandwich; and the milktart trio, Cape brandy, and chocolate fondant spring rolls, each with their own delectable dipping sauce.
When the cold sets in, head for the warming treat of comfort food at Shimmy Beach Club.
